MEDITERRANEAN BRUNCH: La Parrilla
Albrechtstrasse 11 (in Mitte) very close to Bhf. Friedrichstrasse
DETAILS: If you leave the Friedrichstrasse station in the direction of the Spree and cross the foot bridge, you will hit Albrechtstrasse. La Parrilla is a few houses up on the left. (Map pasted in below.) We have reserved a separate room that you can see from the street. The all-you-can-eat brunch costs only 7.90 euros and includes croissants and rolls, cheese, cold cuts, lox, dips, salads, soups, several prepared hot and cold dishes, various home-made desserts and fresh fruit. One cup of coffee or tea is included but additional beverages are extra.
MORE DETAILS: As usual, our business meeting will be held during the brunch. We will discuss the past year, elect Executive Committee officers for 2011, and discuss the future of AVA Berlin. If you are new in town, or new to AVA Berlin, or have just been preoccupied with other things, this meeting is open to you as well, although only paid-up members of AVA Berlin have voting rights. To pay your dues, see our web site at www.avaberlin.org. It’s still only 30 euros a year, which you can reduce as you see fit if 30 euros is too much for you right now. You can also pro-rate the amount if you are in Berlin only part of the year. ATTENTION: our treasurer must have received all dues payments before the meeting.
AGENDA: A tentative agenda is pasted in below. Before the meeting you will receive a detailed report from the chair for 2010, paper copies of which will be distributed at the business meeting.
A BRIEF NOTE ABOUT MEETINGS: Why do we have only one business meeting a year? In 2006 the executive committee decided to make projects the basis of our group’s activities. Looking around at other organizations, we found that many have limited their business meetings to a bare minimum in order to concentrate on activities. This has proved to be a good idea.
So mark your calendar for Sunday brunch: December 5, 11:00 am – 3 pm, La Parrilla, Albrechtstrasse 11 (in Mitte). See you then. Come hungry!

2. Election of officers for the coming year. All members in good standing (dues paid for 2010) are eligible to vote and eligible to run for one of the 7 offices: chair, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer, assistant treasurer, 2 associates.
3. Plans for 2011. Which projects will continue? New ideas?
